...and crocodiles and lizards too.

Check this out! It's not an alligator, or the second floor, but I still don't get it.

  1. Hi Vanessa! I am a fellow hip chick...just read your fat hernia post and thank you!!!! I finally found someone who explained what I'm sure I have now too! It is a pocket of swelling near the incision and it hasn't gone away since surgery (4.5 months ago) and it feels squishy like fat.....lovely. So, tell me about the plastic surgery consult when you happen to have it. I may end up down that road as I am self conscious about mine too. (I am 29 and do not like the way it looks either, it's very noticable!) Otherwise, hope you're doing well! :)

  2. Hi Marcie,
No, thank you! I thought that I might just be the only one with the lovely "pocket" of fat. I will definitely keep you posted on the plastics consult. My goal now is to be the oldest Sports Illustrated swimsuit model ;o) They can cover up the scars with makeup, right?!

  3. Haha! Of course! It's so great to have these support sites b/c you really do find that you are not the only one with these crazy weird hip things! I actually spoke to a general surgeon I work with today about the fat hernia and she said not to get overly excited about it yet, that I would need to wait until at least a year has gone by to let the "remodeling"/healing finish. Then she said that definately a plastics consult is what I'd need and it more than likely wouldn't be covered by insurance. Boo! Also, she said prenancy might make it worse too, which after my left hip surgery later this year, I plan to start a family...sooooo, what to do, what to do? Anyway, I will keep an eye out for your update. :)
